Texas Wire Buyers puts reusable cable back to work
Surplus wire does not stop being useful when a project ends or an order gets cancelled. A full reel, a boxed coil or a usable cut length can still have value as electrical product. We buy that material for resale and reuse, rather than buying it as scrap metal.
Our focus is the wire itself: its identification, condition, remaining length and potential for another use. Reusable wire is usually worth more sold as product than sold by scrap weight because the buyer is paying for usable cable, not just its metal content. Our guide to surplus wire value versus scrap price explains that distinction.
A Houston surplus wire company with a statewide reach
Our Houston surplus wire company is based at 6402 McGrew St, Houston, TX 77087, in southeast Houston near I-45 and Loop 610. You can arrange to bring material to this location, but call 951-403-5738 first. Drop-offs are by appointment so the material and written terms can be reviewed before you arrive.
You do not need to transport your surplus to Houston to discuss a sale. We arrange pickup anywhere in Texas, with the location and lot details addressed before collection. See our Texas pickup service area for more about arranging a sale from your business location.

The surplus wire and cable we review
We review new and unused full reels, partial reels, boxed coils and cut lengths. Project leftovers, cancelled-order material, distributor overstock and plant overstock can all be candidates for reuse. An incomplete reel is not automatically scrap; the remaining footage and condition matter.
We also consider used cable that remains in reusable condition, including decommissioned power and battery cables with lugs and re-reeled cable. Tell us what is known about the material, including any missing labels, jacket damage or uncertain footage. The wire and cable we buy page helps you organize a lot by product type.
- Photograph reel tags and jacket print showing wire type, conductor size and voltage rating.
- Keep full reels, partial reels, coils and loose cut lengths identifiable in your lot list.
- Include clear views of cable ends, existing lugs and any visible damage.
Have reel tags or a footage list? Send photos and we will review the lot.
Get an offerFrom your photos to a written offer
Start by calling us, using the online form or emailing industrial832@gmail.com. Send photos of the whole lot, reel tags, jacket print legends and cut ends, along with a material list or footage estimate. If a length is estimated rather than measured, identify it that way.
We review the information and make a written offer before pickup. Payment method and timing are also confirmed in writing before pickup, so those details are established before the material moves. You can request an offer for your surplus wire with the information you already have.
At pickup or an appointed drop-off, we check the count against the written terms. Keeping the lot grouped and its tags visible makes it easier to match the material to the list. Our wire selling process explains the steps from initial review through receipt.
Documented ownership is part of each purchase
We buy reusable surplus product from businesses, verify the seller and proof of ownership such as an invoice, purchase order, closeout paperwork or company letter, and keep a written record of each purchase. Review our Texas wire seller paperwork guide when gathering the documents for your lot.

Our inventory and yard photos show the material
The photos on this site are our own inventory and yard photos. They show wooden reels carrying jacketed power cable and bare stranded copper, along with rows of cable stored outdoors. These views help explain the difference between identifiable wire inventory and a mixed pile of metal.
For your own submission, include both an overview and close-ups. A whole-lot photo shows how many reels or coils are involved, while a readable tag or jacket legend supplies the product details. Our guide to photographing wire for an offer covers the views to send.
An honest answer about reuse before material moves
Not every old cable is a candidate for resale. Condition, identification and usable length need to support reuse; a reel or a copper conductor alone does not establish that. If the wire is not reusable, we say so honestly, and it may belong with a scrap recycler instead.
Before cutting cable into smaller pieces or combining different lots, send photos for review. Keep tags with their reels and preserve the information you have about lengths and specifications. Call Texas Wire Buyers at 951-403-5738 to discuss your material or arrange an appointment at our Houston location.
