Start Your Surplus Wire Quote Below

Enter your name, company, phone, email and city, then describe the material, quantity and condition. Use the details field for mixed lots, storage conditions or loading access. If you searched for a “sell wire quote,” send information about the usable cable rather than just its metal weight.

Include Wire Type, Size and Estimated Footage

List the wire type, conductor size, copper or aluminum construction, voltage rating and footage when known. For example, identify THHN/THWN-2, XHHW-2 or tray cable from its markings. Separate full reels, partial reels, boxed coils and cut lengths in your list.

An estimate is useful if the exact footage is unknown; label it as an estimate. Our guide to measuring wire left on a reel can help you describe partial reels.

Use Six Photos to Show the Whole Lot

Include a whole-lot view, readable reel tags, jacket printing and visible cut ends. Use remaining photos for different wire types, packaging or damage. Keep labels in focus and show enough surrounding material to connect each label with its reel.

See our wire photography tips before uploading. Photograph accessible ends without cutting or stripping usable wire just for the request.

Describe New Surplus and Reusable Used Cable

We buy new and unused project leftovers, cancelled-order material, distributor and plant overstock, plus used cable still suitable for reuse. Describe any installed history, damaged jackets, attached lugs or re-reeled material.

Check the wire and cable we buy for material categories. For used electrical wire, clear condition details help us assess reuse rather than scrap value.

What Happens After You Send the Form

We review your information and make a written offer before pickup. Payment method and timing are confirmed in writing before pickup; when we collect or receive the material, we check the count against the written terms.

We verify the seller and proof of ownership, such as an invoice, purchase order, closeout paperwork or company letter. Read the Texas wire seller paperwork guide for preparation details.

Common questions

Can I get money for old cables?

Yes, if the cable is still in reusable condition and suitable for resale. Send photos of the jacket markings, ends and overall condition, along with lengths and any known installation history. Decommissioned power or battery cables with lugs may be reusable. If the material is not reusable, we will say so honestly; it may belong with a scrap recycler.

What should I do with unused electrical wire?

Keep it in its original packaging when possible and gather the reel tags or box labels. Group material by type and size, then send photos and a footage list or estimate. Full reels are not the only option: we also review partial reels, boxed coils, cut lengths and project leftovers for reuse.

Are copper wires worth more as reusable wire than scrap?

Reusable wire is usually worth more sold as product than sold as scrap by weight because the buyer is paying for usable wire, not just metal. Its type, size, length, markings and condition matter. Send those details for a surplus wire quote rather than relying on the weight alone.

Can I request an offer without knowing the exact footage?

Yes. Send your best footage estimate and clearly identify it as estimated. Include reel tags, any remaining-length markings and photos of the whole reel or coil. Explain whether the quantity comes from a label, inventory list or visual estimate so we can understand what your submission represents.
