Sell General Cable Wire by Type, Footage and Condition
General Cable is part of Prysmian, so your surplus inventory may carry either name. Keep the original brand, catalog number and product description in your inventory list rather than grouping everything as electrical cable. We review new and unused material from cancelled orders, project leftovers, distributor overstock and plant inventory, along with used cable that remains reusable.
If you are comparing Prysmian cable surplus buyers, start with the details that identify usable product: cable construction, conductor size, voltage rating, available length and condition. A recognizable brand helps identify the material, but it does not replace those details. Use our offer request form to send the lot information and photos.
Prysmian and General Cable Medium-Voltage Reels
For medium-voltage cable, photograph both the reel tag and the jacket legend. Include the conductor size, copper or aluminum construction, voltage rating, insulation type and shielding information where marked. A cut-end photo can help show the conductor, insulation and metallic shield, but it should accompany identification markings rather than replace them.
Tell us whether the reel is factory wound, partially used or re-reeled, and identify any known jacket damage or exposed ends. For removed cable, describe its previous use and how it was handled during removal. Our medium-voltage cable page explains the product details to gather before requesting an offer.

Tray Cable and Industrial Cable Need Clear Jacket Markings
For General Cable or Prysmian tray cable, include the conductor count, AWG size, voltage rating and any TC or TC-ER markings. Shielded and unshielded constructions should be listed separately. A wide photo shows the reel condition, while a close photo of the jacket print helps distinguish similar-looking black industrial cables.
Keep control, instrumentation, power and VFD cable separated in your list rather than combining them under one total footage estimate. Note armor, shields, pair or triad counts and other construction details shown on the label. Our tray cable selling guide covers the identification details for TC and TC-ER material.
Have reel tags or a footage list? Send photos and we will review the lot.
Get an offerIdentify Fiber Optic Surplus Beyond Jacket Color
Prysmian and General Cable fiber inventory needs its own description; jacket color alone is not enough to identify it. Send the manufacturer part number, fiber count, single-mode or multimode designation, and indoor or outdoor rating where marked. Include armor and installation ratings if the tag or jacket provides them.
Photograph the full reel, readable labels and accessible cable ends without unwinding the material just for pictures. Tell us about known jacket damage, crushed areas or uncertain footage. Our fiber optic cable page outlines the information to include when offering surplus fiber rather than metal-bearing power cable.
Prepare Partial Reels and Mixed General Cable Lots
You do not need a full factory reel to submit material for review. We consider partial reels, boxed coils, cut lengths and re-reeled cable when they are still reusable. List each continuous length separately; several short pieces are not the same product as one uninterrupted run with the same combined footage.
If the tag shows the original footage rather than the remaining amount, label that distinction clearly. Use jacket footage marks or inventory records when available, and identify estimates as estimates. The partial reels and cut lengths guide explains how to present these lots without overstating what remains.
- Group matching catalog numbers together, but show each reel or coil separately.
- Include photos of reel tags, jacket print, cut ends and the whole lot.
- Note loose wraps, damaged reel flanges, exposed ends and known storage issues.

Review Reuse Value Before Sending Cable to Scrap
Reusable cable is usually worth more sold as product than sold as scrap by weight because the buyer is paying for usable wire, not just its metal content. Length, identification and condition matter alongside conductor material. An intact, identifiable cable run presents a different reuse opportunity from damaged pieces with unreadable markings.
Do not strip or cut cable into shorter pieces before asking us to review it. Used power cable, including decommissioned cable with lugs, may still be reusable, but age or copper content alone does not establish that. Read about surplus wire value versus scrap price; if your material is not reusable, we will say so honestly.
Written Offers and Texas Pickup for Prysmian Surplus
Send your photos and list through the online form, call 951-403-5738 or email industrial832@gmail.com. We review the material and make a written offer before pickup, with payment method and timing confirmed in writing before pickup. We verify the seller and proof of ownership, such as an invoice, purchase order, closeout paperwork or company letter, and keep a written purchase record; see our Texas seller paperwork guide.
We arrange pickup anywhere in Texas and check the count against the written terms when collecting or receiving the material. Tell us how the reels are stored and describe access or loading restrictions so arrangements reflect the actual lot.
